Welcome! I had such a wonderful time meeting all of you on our Orientation Days last week. We are very excited to begin a new school year. In this newsletter I will review some of the policies regarding Arrival/Dismissal, Book bags, and Class parties. The Parent Handbook that was emailed to you in July can also clarify any questions you may have regarding school policies. If you’ve misplaced the email, the handbook can be found on our Preschool website, www.setonpreschool.org. We have been reviewing the orientation forms that were completed last week and if any further information is needed, we will send a note home in your child’s book-bag.
Morning Arrival (8:20-8:35)-please pull around the back of the building. Staff members will check your child’s temperature and help them out of their car seat. They will then be walked into the building and to their classroom.
Afternoon Arrival (12:05)-please pull to the front doors of the preschool (double blue doors under the preschool awning) for temperature check and exiting the car. A Teacher will walk your child to their classroom.
Morning Dismissal (11:15)-please pull up to the preschool front doors (Mrs. Wendy and Mrs. Alison) or back doors (Mrs. Christina, Mrs. Maura, Mrs. Liz and Mrs. Sheila) and your child will be walked to your car. As we learn your faces and cars, we may ask for identification. Please know that this is for your child’s safety.
Afternoon Dismissal (3:00)-please use the SASEAS car line. Enter off Linden Creek Road. Place the car tag you receive at orientation on your car mirror and the backpack tag on your child’s backpack. Your child will be walked to your car.
School Security: The preschool doors will remain locked at all times.
If a child has to leave early for a planned event (appointments, etc.), a note must be provided or a parent must call the office (513) 575-9900, before arrival. Once you have arrived at the school, please park outside the preschool doors and ring the call bell. Mrs. Aimee will walk your child out to you.
If your child is going home with someone that doesn’t usually pick up or is not on your approved pick up list, please send a note in with the person’s name. We will check their ID before dismissing your child to them.
Book-Bags:Please do not send toys in your child’s book bag. Your child’s book-bag is an important part of our communication system. The assistants only check the main or largest book bag compartment, (some book bags can have several compartments and we do not go through every one) so please put any school related notes, forms, checks, etc. in the largest compartment, and we will do the same. Check your child’s book-bag after each school day for newsletters and school work. In turn, we will check the book-bag for anything sent in from home at the beginning of class.
Identification: Make sure your child’s name is on their book-bag. Also put names on lunch boxes, coats, hats, mittens, and any other items of clothing or personal items. Children have a hard time remembering if a book-bag or a jacket is theirs, so please make sure all your child’s clothing and personal items have their name on them.
Classroom Parties: Until a vaccine is available for the COVID-19 virus, or the number of cases drops down to zero and our county is off the Ohio Public Health Advisory System, we will not be having parent helpers attend class parties. Room parents will set up Online Sign-ups, with lists of items needed for the class parties. Parents can sign-up to send in the items. Teachers will facilitate the parties. We hope that as things improve parents will once again be able to participate in class parties. If you have any questions, feel free to contact the preschool office.
Teacher Notes: If you need to talk to a teacher about your child, please send a note in your child’s book-bag requesting a conference or a phone call by the teacher. You could also communicate with your child’s teacher via email.
Thank you for your cooperation on the above matters. One of our main purposes at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Preschool is to make this school year an enjoyable, memorable, and safe one for both you and your child.
We are looking forward to a very fun and exciting school year!
If you have questions about the opportunities available to you in our programs, feel free to send us a message. We will get back to you as soon as possible.
